The Purple Bard: Shakespeare & Prince Mash-up

Earlier this year, I’ve done a David Bowie/Shakespeare tribute as a cover for my university’s English literary magazine. This time around, I have another Shakesperean pop-culture mash-up tribute as a cover for my university’s English literary magazine: A Prince/Shakespeare tribute.

During the last several issues, at least ever since I’m in charge of it, the cover of our magazine became a tribute to recently deceased authors or mucisians. It wasn’t mean to be this way, but each time when it was time to think of a cover for the upcoming edition, a creative person dear to us died. The first was an Iain Banks tribute, followed by a Terry Pratchett one. Finally, a Bowie and Prince tribute followed.

As for the Prince cover, I tried to design it as close to the Bowie one as possible. These two were not only amazing musicians that had a lasting impact on people all over the world, it is also a continuation of  this year’s 400 Years of Shakespeare-celebrations.

Without further ado, here is my Shakespeare/Prince tribute, followed by my earlier Shakespeare/Bowie triburte:

As usual, constructive criticism is most welcome!

  1. Hey there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re using?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different browsers and I must say this blog
loads a lot quicker then most. Can you suggest a good
internet hosting provider at a reasonable price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!

    1. Hi, I’m hosting my blog only on while this type of hosting has its limitations (eg no html editing option of your chosen theme), I’m still very satisfied.

      Hope this helps. Cheers!
